令和5年度第40回全国商業高等学校英語スピーチコンテストが9月16日(土)に東京の国際連合大学で行われました。１Tの川島優里さんがレシテーションの部に出場し、結果は入賞を果たすことはできませんでしたが、約100名の前で英語のスピーチを行い、とても貴重な経験になったと思います。

On Saturday, September 17th, 2023, the national competition of English speech contest for commercial high schools  was held in Tokyo at United Nations University. Yuri Kawashima from Yonago Shoin High School represented Tottori prefecture and competed in the recitation section. There were forty-seven contestants from each prefecture in Japan.  Twelve were chosen to proceed to the finals in order for the winner to be decided. Although Ms. Kawashima did not proceed to the finals, she did her best saying her English speech in front of 100 people. She built up her English public speaking skill through this competition and gained valuable experience. It was memorable event for all attendees.
