9月23〜28日までニュージーランドのヴァードン・カレッジから短期留学生（中高校生）を迎えました。短い留学期間でしたが、日本の高校生とのコミュニケーションを通してたくさんの経験をしていただけたと思います。

9/24(水)

松絳祭の1日目、文化の部のステージ発表では「ハカ」というマオリ族の民族舞踊を披露し、日本語で自己紹介をしました。21人全員でカラオケコンテストにも参加し、本校のの生徒たちはとても大盛り上がりました。留学生のみなさんは、松蔭の生徒たちの発表も熱心に観賞していました。

9/25(木)

松絳祭文化の部2日目、留学生それぞれが模擬店やクラスの出し物を見て回り、日本の食べ物や文化などを味わいました。お店や展示場所などさまざまな場所で多くの松蔭生達と積極的に交流する姿が見られました。

9/26(金)

本校の生徒たちと一緒に英語の授業に参加しました。生徒達も一生懸命英語を使い、皆本当に仲良くなりました。

9/27(土)

滞在したホストファミリーや松蔭生と一緒に緑水園でさよならBBQをしました。皆たくさん食べたり喋ったり満喫しているようでした。

ニュージーランドからの留学期間では、松蔭生たちがみんなを大歓迎してくれ、この素晴らしい機会をとても有意義なものにできました。

From September 23rd to September 28th, we welcomed short-term exchange students (junior high and high school students) from Verdon College in New Zealand.

On the first day of the School Festival (the 24th), during the cultural stage performances, they presented the “Haka,” a traditional Maori war dance, and introduced themselves in Japanese. Afterwards, all 21 students participated in the karaoke contest, which got Shoin students really excited. The New Zealand students also enthusiastically watched other performances.

On the 25th, the second day of the School Festival’s cultural program, the New Zealand students visited the food stalls and class booths, experiencing Japanese food and culture. They also actively interacted with Shoin students.

On the 26th, unfortunately, the scheduled Sports Festival events were postponed due to rain. However, the New Zealand students participated in Shoin English classes in the audiovisual room. Shoin students also tried their best to use English, and everyone became really good friends.

On the final day, Saturday the 27th, a farewell BBQ was held at “Rokusuien” log cabins up in the mountains with the host families of some of the New Zealand students and various Shoin students. Everyone ate heartily, chatted, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Throughout the New Zealand students’ stay, Shoin students gave them a warm welcome, making this wonderful opportunity truly meaningful.
